The Blind Well

 

“Here it is. The Blind Well.”

I place my hand within the energy well.

“This place is far more pleasant without Non-Cetra.”

She laughs heartily at my comment.

“I cannot argue with that.”

The contamination clears with rapid success thanks to my assistance.

“There you are. Your well is cleansed, my Queen. Is there anything else that I can assist you with?”

Her stoic expression bursts into a beaming smile. The Awoken Queen’s eyes sparkle like stars in the night sky. Tears of relief & gladness begin to trail down her moony cheeks. She wraps her arms around my torso & squeezes me tight.

“Thank you, Lucifer Caeleste. I cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for me.”

“You are more than welcome, Mara. I’m happy to assist.”

She pulls back a modicum and looks deep into my eyes.

“You have proven your valor and worth to me. It is true what they say about you.”

I snigger at her comment.

“That depends on who’s talking about me, hun.”

She laughs with exuberance at my comment.

“We are kindred spirits on that subject as well.”

I smile soft at her comment.

“Do you need my help with anything else?”

She shakes her head ‘no’ at me.

“You’ve done so much for me already. It’s time that I return the favor. I swear on all that I hold dear to help you, my love.”

I smile again & lean in slow to kiss my Queen. Her hands grasp my face faster than a flash. She pulls me in close & presses her tender, pouty lips against mine. Her passionate side is unlike anything I have seen her display. I wrap one of my arms around her & hold her with reassurance. She pulls away enough to stare into my eyes again.

“Thank you for all that you have done for me. I love you.”

I smile & kiss her again.

“I love you back, hun. I don’t mean to ruin this moment but we should regroup with the other Dróttnings. We can celebrate once I’m at full presence & finished with this war.”

She nods back in agreement & sniffles ever so slight.

“That’s a sound strategy. Let us prepare our next move.”

I nod & squeeze her with tender care.

“Lead the way, my dear."
