Lucifer Aren Caeleste sat in his immortal form beside his wife Tifa inside her luxurious Nibelheim mountain hot spring getaway. Their daughter Marlene could be heard laughing in the distance with their spouse Aerith. The Cetra Freewoman looked at her husband & beamed from ear to ear.
“This is the best birthday present that I have ever gotten. Thank you, Luci.”
The Lightbringer took his wife’s hand & lifted it towards his lips then kissed it with tender care. He smiled back at her with gentle reserve.
“You are more than welcome, my love. You deserve nothing but the absolute best.”
The humble barmaid blushed bright at his chivalrous behavior & giggled with bliss.
“I wish I could be with you in full presence to celebrate,” he said, with a touch of remorse.
She looked at her husband with empathetic understanding.
“You’re in my heart. That’s all that matters right now.”
The Lightbringer remained quiet then glanced down & nodded softly.
“You’re always with me, Luci. I know how tough this has been on you. I’m not letting you go. I promise.”
Lucifer looked back at her with pain in his expression. He opened his mouth to speak but stopped & looked away again. Tifa grabbed her husband by his chin & turned his face towards hers. With lightning speed she pressed her lips against his & kissed him deep with unspoken passion.
The Lightbringer wrapped his powerful arms around his devoted spouse & held her tight. The barmaid cradled her husband’s gorgeous face with one of her hands while running her fingers through his silver mane with the other. She bumped her forehead against his with tenderness & looked deep into his eyes.
“Don’t let them upset you,” she said.
Lucifer remained silent & nodded. Tifa kissed her husband again sensing his distress.
“I can tell you what Cloud never did for me if that would make you feel better.”
The Cetra chieftain chortled at his wife’s comment. She smiled back at him with adoration.
“I love this place, Luci...and then everything else that you’ve done to improve Nibelheim…it’s better than anything I could have ever imagined. Thank you.”
He smiled back soft.
“I’m glad to hear you like it, hun.”
“I love it, Luci. All of it. This is the best birthday that I’ve ever had.”
“I promise to do better once I’m back.”
Tifa shook her head at him with fondness.
“You outdo everyone all the time, baby. Just sit & relax with me. I’m the birthday girl so you have do what I say.”
The Lightbringer guffawed at her comment. “Yes, dear.”
Tifa beamed once again at her husband. "Good boy."
“I gotta say, darling…you look amazing for 36.”
The Cetra Freewoman burst out with uproarious laughter at her husband’s comment.
“Thanks, dear. You don't look too bad yourself for a man in his forties.”
Lucifer snickered & smiled at her with tender playfulness.
“There’s the smile that I was waiting to see,” she said, then pinched him soft with adoration.
Marlene rushed over to her parents pulling Aerith in tow. “Dinner is ready,” she exclaimed, with excitement.
“Okay!” Tifa said, then stood up with haste.
Lucifer looked at Aerith. “I don’t ever remember you mentioning your cooking.”
Aerith squinted her eyes & pursed her lips at her husband. “There’s a lot of stuff you haven’t heard me talk about, mister.”
The Lightbringer laughed with exuberance at her rebuttal then stood up. “Fair enough. If it’s anything like your gardening then I have nothing to worry about.”
The flower girl beamed bright at her husband’s comment. Marlene raised her hands into the air signaling for her father to pick her up. Lucifer scooped his daughter up & placed her on his shoulder. Marlene giggled with delight & wrapped her arms around the top of her father’s head. The Lightbringer squeezed his daughter’s side with gentle affection.
He smiled at his spouses. “After you, my adorable konas.”
Tifa & Aerith took each other by the hand & giggled at their loving verr. The foursome made their way to the dining area of Tifa’s private getaway to celebrate the rest of her birthday in peace.
